The catalogue is intentionally short. Nothing is listed until we have handled it, and nothing stays listed once it stops being something we would buy ourselves.
Three questions decide what stays listed: is it made properly, can we describe it honestly, and would we keep it. A no to the last one ends it, however good the photograph.
Descriptions are written from the item rather than from a supplier's sheet, so drawbacks are included alongside the good parts. It costs us some orders and saves a lot of returns.
We are a Hong Kong registered company operating this shop online, with stock handled from our own warehouse. Registered details and the support address sit in the footer of every page.
Stock is bought in small runs and checked before it is listed: materials noted from the label and from handling, and a note made of anything a buyer would want to know but a supplier would leave out. Where a supplier cannot tell us the composition, the item does not go up until we have checked it ourselves. That is slower, and it is the reason the catalogue stays short.
There are no limited-time banners here, no crossed-out prices that were never charged, and no staged photographs of a product we have not received. Nothing on the site is a stock image licensed from a catalogue, which is why the photography is plain and consistent.
Our company name, registered address and contact email appear in the footer on every page of the site, so you never have to hunt for who you are buying from. If you need them in a different format for a bank or an accountant, ask and we will send them.
Every order confirmation comes from our own domain and quotes an order number you can reply to. If a message asks for card details or a transfer to a personal account, it is not from us — forward it and we will confirm.
Stock comes from small makers and short production runs rather than from a single wholesaler's catalogue. When a run finishes it usually does not return, which is why a listing disappears instead of becoming a backorder.
Listings come and go with the stock rather than with a marketing calendar. New pieces appear when a run arrives and leave when it sells through, and the counts stated on this site are kept in step with the live catalogue rather than left at last season's figure.
